tranny options

well, my i thinking my second gear syncros are on their way out the door.

mainly because of the grinding it makes going into second.

Now my question is:
what is the best way to fix this?

buy a rebuild kit, and tackle it myself? is it to touchy of a thing to rebuild that it needs to be done professionally?

take it loose into a tranny place and say do it..

I'd try and rebuild it myself.

I'm not sure about your trans, but I rebuilt a T-5 just off a manual I downloaded off the net and my brother is still running that trans in his car. I was little nervous to do this at first, but its really not that hard. You will need a few specialty tools, but other than that I had everything else.

So I say go ahead and do it yourself, and good luck.

I have the manual saved on my PC. I will Email to you.

If I remember correctly the only specialty tool was this weird gear puller, but I just rented it from Canadian Tire. Also I seen a little trick to put the gears back on off of a tv program, you will need a little hot plate (like a camping one) to heat the gears to allow them to slide on the shaft.

If you need any help just ask.
