Question Tri-Ax loud?

Anyone notice that the Tri-ax is much louder than the stocker? it just seems you can hear so much more tranny noise.

Same here, got so annoying I pulled it out for now.

There was a thread about some gasket you can get to quiet it down. (on this site)

Someone else mentioned putting a couple of fat o-rings between the stick mount.

Have not tried that... Got the gaskets just need to try them out.

You'll also notice more heat coming off the stick... since there is no insulating material like the on the stock one

Good luck.

Every aftermarket shifter makes more noise than stock. Try Bob at stangshiftergaskets.com. This helps reduce most of the noise.

I'm about as fussy as them came and can honestly say that my TriAx has exibited none of the issues you guys are reporting............it's in my 2000 GT but was fine in my Fox as well.
Perhaps you might try using it with your stock handle.

I'm partial to the noise when I can hear it...when the top is down, don't seem to hear it at all.

yeah i bought a gasket when i added my tri-ax. I found that lil washer they give ya to keep the boot outta the base to rattle alot so i ditched it. Either way mine isnt very noisy at all, and soo much better then stock!
