yea i bought my 98 v6 last in june i had no idea about cars or engines i jus saw a mustang and was like daam i can afford that . so i bought it then found out how terribly under powered it was.....i think my 97 astro with the 4.2 v6 in it accelarates faster..... so i did some reasearching and im getting a supercoupe s/c put in it and some other things that will have me runnign around low 14s with an auto ( yes it is an auto but hey like i said i could afford it at the time and if you think autos suck then how come the the crazy ass HP cars use em). and once i get the shift kit a t-lok possibly 13.7-8s thumb: . besides if you have a bone stock gt how much do you have to drop into to it to run 12s? probably a good 5-6 grand right? a v6 can do exactly the same check this sight www.tmaturbo.com/ 3500 buck and ull be running probably low 13s once you get a new rear end and beefed up tranny. personally if i had the money id own a 1969 gt500, 1986 SVO, my car, and a bullit.. there all mustang

I found a link for one badass turbo 2.3L Ford Pinto. Might make you think before you shoot down a 4 banger rockon:

Hey hammer,

As per your question, I can tell you I had my heart set on a VW Jetta Diesel to be honest, I seem to drive a lot and usually drive about 40,000 a year. So no, if I didn't work at the dealership, I would still be drooling over the guys on the street with mustangs! I had drove my fair share of 6's and 8's working there... even brought a Mach 1 up the DVP when they just came out. Not to one better anyone here, but when my boss said i could pick up the fully jammed GT for $25K, I would have been an idiot to say no. Oh and it was brand new, 100km's on it sitting in the show room.

I think from this post I did get the replies that I wanted... It just shows that Ford has made the most sucessful sports car on the market that has proven the test of time... whether its a 6 or an 8 or heck even the old 4's, I will still give a little wave, we are all on the same team!

For me personally, I don't think i will ever get sick of the rumble of the flow masters every time i turn the key, or that on demand power down shifting to 4th on the highway.

Thanks for the replies,

Grant

I would love to have a v8 but when I bought my car, the insurance would have been too high for the GT, and I didnt want to know what it would have been for a mach or a cobra, so I went with a 6 because I really like the mustang and always have.
