Weird question about exhaust
I put a new magnaflow system on my 87 gt, but for the life of me I cant get the driver side pipe to line up after the mufflers, consquently its leaning against the gas tank cover. So i was thinking of removing the pipes after the mufflers and just put the tips on the mufflers (so before the axle). Can anyone tell me why this could be a bad idea?

I just pulled a system like that off my 89 gt. it was loud inside the car. If you have a good stereo system then go for it. Also I got pulled in by the mto in one of there spot checks, and it is not allowed becuase it is not clearing the passenger compartment of the car. Luckally the MTO officer was a family friend and let me off with a warning. I would try to bend the pipe or the hanger to get to look right.

And as 2tonebossgt said, it is loud.

I fought it in court and it was a draw. I lost but had $0 fine.
Problem is you can’t please ignorance, it’s obligation as Canadian citizens to know the law.
Why not save yourself the headache and get the exhaust fixed up by a Mustang shop somewhere? A little bit of welding, aligning and some pipe should go a long way.

Not only is it loud, but the sound is a bit 'uncontrolled'. Not only that, but the fumes will find their way into the car and you cannot stay in one spot for long because it will reek. Tailpipes sound way better IMO
