What happened to this place?

Hey guys!! I still pock around once in a while, but lost all interest in the whole forum thing.... mainly due to myself, no other reason. Back in the day it was full of life, tech, the new up comings, planning meets, prep for show n shines, some good ol' smack talk fun,ects...
Social media seems to be the place these days, and I have no interest there either.
I still mod my car, and cruise it the way I did before the whole internet thing blew up strong. If I want to see what is going on like get together's, and stuff, I get emails, or a text, then I just make a choice if I want to join in.

It's gone the way of this forum but maybe even further. There's about 5 guys including myself who basically converse in a single thread.

Web forums have been slowly dying for some time now. As we the ones who got started with it are either grown out of it, started raising families, or gotten too busy to make time.... or just lost interest. As the next generation follows there is newer ways to connect like social media, and the forums become something “old”. It’s just like how the old record gets replaced by cassettes, which gets replaced by cd’s, which gets replaced by downloading, .... ects......

I still check in here a few times a week to see what's going on. Glad that I have been, this is where I found my current Mustang when it was advertised here a bit over a year ago originally.
cheers

Don't forget the "drive by" posters that have no interest in contributing anything other than selling their or flogging their event once a year. While its great to get the events out there, and its smart to post your stuff for sale so guys like Ed can find it (success story right there), in general they contribute nothing to the day to day conversations that keep the place going. That has to come from the regulars, and fair to say we have a generally older crowd here that are fairly civilized, not keyboard cowboy millennials.
I probably fit the keyboard cowboy mold when I joined, those who have been around long enough will know my smart mouth and lousy attitude got me banned years back, and rightly so. Somewhere along the line I put on my big boy pants, woke up and realized there was no point in being a jerk......obviously earned some trust on the way back.
Life is life, you prioritize, internet forums are low on the priority list compared to the people beside you, drives me crazy when people pay more attention to their phones than someone trying to have a conversation with them. If everyone throws in the odd comment or two, things can be on the upswing, I've been to fordtough.ca as well, had an F150 or two in my driving career.

Clubs are dying, forums are dying and Facebook is taking over, but facebooks a right now type of thing.
So you sign in and realize the meet for a cruise was 2 hours ago and you missed it or the planned event is buried
and you don't see it. I suspect if places don't survive the car scene will take a hit over time.
