On a sliding skill level I would rate it at 3.5/5. 0 being air filter 5 being a DOHC converison...........

It wouldn't be a hard job, very easy to get to actually,but.......the skill level will be needed. But that is also depending on if it is just a cams swap,or cams and valve spring swap.
The best thing to do is save the bucks, find a set of '01 to '04 PI heads as they have the bolt on cam gears, plus the more comon cam cover bolt pattern ('99,and '00 have the pressed cam gear, and 13 bolt pattern cam cover for one side and 14 for the other side),and install the valve springs and cams, then swap the heads over, and all that would be left to do,is dial in the cams, and re install the front engine cover, and cam covers, and little stuff,ects......

and since vt closed down i dont think theres another company that will have cams that just slide in with out anyother stuff needed....
