i have a set of 5-spoke Riken wheels with some blemishes in the chrome. the blemishes look like the trail left by an animal that burrows under skin or bark of a tree, about the size of a flea. i don't know how else to describe it. the lines run all over, not in a straight line and look just as i've described. they appear to be just below the surface of the wheel, which is still smooth.

has anyone seen this? can anything be done to fix them up, without rechroming the whole thing (i might at well buy new wheels if i'm getting into that kind of cost)?
