Winter Rims

I know this seems stupid but I need to ask, Would 17 inch rims fit on a 2012 GT?:? I just have standing brakes on the car I KNOW people are shouting at their screens going " WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!:banghead:" but I don't want to be a garage queen so i'm just wondering if they would happen to fit or not thanks everyone.

I assume you mean non Brembo brakes by standing brakes? I know for sure they won't fit with Brembos.

"I know this seems stupid but I need to ask". Doesn't seem stupid to me. I wouldn't have a clue either. That's what we're, oooops, I mean these other guys are here for. Ask them anything. :)

Some 17" wheels will clear, but will be very tight to the front calipers, and you will likely be able to do a static balance only, no weights behind the spokes of the wheel. The 2011-up GT base model brakes were changed from 12.4" front rotors to 13.2", so 17" is a squeeze.

We did one a customer's vehicle last week using some 17x7" +38 offset Sequel wheels from Fastco out of Quebec. Decent looking painted 5-spokes for a reasonable price. We put 235/55R17 Blizzak WS-70 boots on them.

I don't know if the OEM 17" wheels from a V6 or 05-09 GT would fit over your brakes. Maybe you can find a set of takeoff wheels for a good price, and give them a try.

cheers
