Question Winter Rims

I know this seems stupid but I need to ask, Would 17 inch rims fit on a 2012 GT? I just have standing brakes on the car I KNOW people are shouting at their screens going " WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" but I don't want to be a garage queen so i'm just wondering if they would happen to fit or not thanks everyone.

I assume you mean non Brembo brakes by standing brakes? I know for sure they won't fit with Brembos.

"I know this seems stupid but I need to ask". Doesn't seem stupid to me. I wouldn't have a clue either. That's what we're, oooops, I mean these other guys are here for. Ask them anything.

Some 17" wheels will clear, but will be very tight to the front calipers, and you will likely be able to do a static balance only, no weights behind the spokes of the wheel. The 2011-up GT base model brakes were changed from 12.4" front rotors to 13.2", so 17" is a squeeze.

We did one a customer's vehicle last week using some 17x7" +38 offset Sequel wheels from Fastco out of Quebec. Decent looking painted 5-spokes for a reasonable price. We put 235/55R17 Blizzak WS-70 boots on them.

I don't know if the OEM 17" wheels from a V6 or 05-09 GT would fit over your brakes. Maybe you can find a set of takeoff wheels for a good price, and give them a try.

cheers
