Winter tires...

I have a 2012 V6 with Pony package. I've been trying to figure out what tires are the best for winter driving here in Alberta. A friend has some Bridgestone blizzak 235/50r18 on 09' Mustang rims. Will they fit my 12'?

Welcome to the site dude. Not sure what size tire you're running now, but the sizes have to be the same or slightly different or the speedo won't read right. As far as the rims go, not sure, but I'd say there's a good chance they'll fit. Worst come to worst, if it's your buddy thats got them, jack 'er up and swap one out on both front and rear - that should tell the tale right there. Good idea to go with the 'Zaks though, winter tires are a good idea.

Blizzaks are the best. You should be ok with that tire/wheel combo.

I've got some winters mounted on rims that I put together for my '07 and hardly used. If they don't go somewhere soon they're going to be used for smokeshows. They're Kumho I-ZEN WIS

I'm in Calgary. PM me if you're interested.

I don't see why they wouldn't fit. Blizzaks are awesome tires.

No problem to bolt those on the 2012. If the car has the performance package, you need at least 17" wheels to clear the brakes.

The only issue would be the TPMS if he put them in the 09 wheels ... the 2010-up cars use the valve stem type sensors rather than the band mount sensors that the earlier cars had.

cheers

You should throw up a classified dude, gotta be someone in your neck of the woods looking for a set. If not, smoke 'em if you got 'em, just make sure you do it two at a time and take some video. :tup :lol

Good info. I didn't even think of the TPMS, and didn't know they had changed the style of sensor.

We definitely have some knowledgeable members here and good luck with the snow tire hunt.
