wow, thanks for the welcomes. I will post pics of the car soon. some mods will be done. def suspension and maybe gears. have to get it to work and figure out a clutch issue before anything else. previous owner just had clutch done. burning smell after short easy drive. no slipping though. wonder if cable is hanging up a bit or something.
the 97 would not have been my first choise, but couldn't pass up the deal

maybe grease or oil was left on the exhaust that is burning off?

def clutch smell. pulled fork cover off, and can smell it bigtime. at least I can see the clutch is new.
