Hello from the Nations's Capital

Hi, I'm Paul from Ottawa. I bought my new 2013 V6 Premium Pony package Mustang just over a year ago.

Yes, I bought a Mustang in the middle of the winter... and I drove it home and have been driving it ever since. It is my 12 month a year daily driver. Over a winter and a half, it has handled most conditions thrown at it.

I even got in line in traffic this winter during a snow storm behind 2 other 2013-14 Mustangs. So I guess I'm not the only crazy one in town.

I do have one confession to make, I am a convert from GM. My brand has been Oldsmobile since my first car, but signs of the change might have started when I painted my '72 Cutlass Kona blue.

I hope you can welcome a convert into your group even if he still owns 2 Oldsmobiles.

And I know everyone likes pics, so here they are.

When I first bought the car.

A few weeks later.

And here is a pic in "summer mode" from recently.

Welcome to CMOC. I bought my Mustang in Ottawa. Don't worry about the GM loyalty thing. My DD is a 11 GMC Z71 4X4 and the wife's car is a 08 Pontiac G5, the grocery getter as I call it. We bought them both new. Now here's the kicker. I was thinking of buying a Camaro before I bought the Mustang, but deep down I knew it would be a Mustang. My first car was a 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe. I loved that car and wish I still had it today. My last Ford car was a 1972 Gran Torino with a 351 Cleveland in it. I did have a 1976 Ford pick up as well. I had always been a Ford guy up until 1980 when I jumped to GM. The late 1970's Ford's were just rust buckets. The big 3 have come a long way and I would drive any of them now.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

I appreciate the compliments on the car.

It was just pure luck that I found this exact car. Being new to the Mustang world, when I started looking in February last year, I was planning on ordering a DIB premium V6 stick with no other options or packages other than a block heater. When the salesman started to build one for me to get an exact price another salesman told him he couldn't order a Mustang anymore. I didn't know I was there right between the model years. So my next option was to pick a car out of the Canada-wide inventory. He couldn't find a DIB V6 stick premium without any other packages anywhere in the country. I left and started to wonder about other colours but I really liked the deep impact blue. I went back a week later and the salesman told me he found something close to what I wanted, but it had the Pony Package. To be honest, I liked the rear spoiler and the 18" silver wheels are nice too but I wasn't crazy about the side stripe along the bottom of the door, so I really didn't want the Pony Package.

In the end I guess it was meant to be. When I was looking at the window sticker and saw the line "Stripe Delete" For the next couple of weeks, while it was picked up somewhere in Quebec and delivered to Ottawa I was a little excited.

After over a year, I still smile every time I get in the car.

I'll try to post some pics of the non-Mustangs soon.
