I find if you push hard/bargain you can save lotsa money here and support the Canadian economy

I agree. I know a couple people who buy most of their big ticket items, such as cars, boats, RVs etc. down south, but personally I don't even want to get caught up in all the paperwork, and hassles. I just do it the old fashioned way....Negotiate until I'm happy with the deal, or walk away, and find another!

The big thing to me is that everything costs more in Canada and I understand that as Canadians make more money on average.
