Looking to Re-live the Dream
Hi guys - mid-life reality check has led me to begin the hunt for the car of my dreams...a Mustang convertible... for summer touring and enjoyment. Full disclosure - I am not a 'gearhead'. And I am not looking at becoming one. But I did own a Mustang 8 cyl. when I was younger and the candle has never stopped burning. Now, with kids gone and on my own, it is time a re-ignite the fire with a new (or slightly used) set of summer wheels!
And to that end, I have a question. I was looking into purchasing a 2015 or 2016 low-miler probably off of a dealer. However, research has led me to find that many existing owners report the 15/16 Mustangs seems to have a noticeable vibration problem athighway speed -80-120kph possibly related to the new independent rear suspension with the two piece driveshaft in the2015/16 Mustang for better ride/handling. Ford appears to not have found a solution to this problem. This concern is leading me towards perhaps looking towards the 2014 models and a tried and true powertrain.Thoughts and comments from those 'in the know' appreciated...tx much...looking forward to interacting with you further as I proceed down this path!

Welcome, good luck on the search. Depends on where you cut and paste your info, but I've never had any issues with my '16, so if you feel better looking at a 2014, go for it, or maybe wait for the re-designed 2018.

Welcome. If you like the new style, just make sure you test drive the car before you buy it to make sure there is not vibrations. I've been in a few of them and have not felt any driveline vibration. In my opinion you can't go wrong with the new body style. Lots of great features, great looks, fantastic performance and very liveable on long trips.

All good...actually great! Purchased a 2014 MCA Edition convertible with 21K on it abut no a full year of remaining bumper to bumper warranty! Needless to say, I am stoked! Will be following CMOC closely for info and tips moving forward! Tx All!

Congratulations from a fellow Ottawa member! You'll enjoy the 2014. I have a 2013 but it is a V6 but I know a few people with 2013-14 V8's and they have a blast.
And check out the Ottawa Mustang Club if you're interested in getting together with some locals.
Oh and where are the pics?
