Welcome to the site dude - 'grats on the 5-0 GTCS! Nice car for sure, and tons of fun I'm guessing.

Sup guys, and thanks for the welcome, yeah Im loving the handling A LOT. I was not so sure about the electric assist steering, had nothing to compare this to,just used to old school power assist off motor, well it's amazing in balance, sharp decisive response,and excellent feedback.
The more I learn about this machine the more I'm enjoying it. Maybe some of you might know where I can buy clear front fascia marker lenses instead of the stock amber ones, any good shops to check out in the GTA?
Well, some crap news today,that ended on a 100% positive note...
I thought I'd get up early, head down to the local grocery store and get the list taken care off, freeing up the rest of the day... heading back home, some douche in a beat up pickup from the 80's shoots past me doing at least 80 km in a 40 zone, with a load of gravel out back, yep... one flew into the driver side leading edge of the hood, the vertical drop at the very front... no dent to metal, but took out a chip,after 3 hrs working on it, I can honestly say I cannot see or find it if I tried:
This worked perfectly and wanted to share just in case some one needs to touch up a chip and make it literally disappear!
Started by throughly cleaning the immediate damaged area with some alcohol. then went over it with a micro fiber to make sure there were no strands of micro cotton (off a Qtip I used).I used a dealer bought vile of touch up paint, this one's cool cause you can either use the brush, or a pen tip to apply paint... after a good 2 minute shake to the paint I applied the first thin layer with the tip and gave that 20 minutes dry time...2 coat was the same, again thin with the tip, I wanted to make sure there was an established base right over the primer.
30 minutes after the 2nd coat cured, I used the brush,with sparingly amount of paint, I wiped it at 5 points of the brush, and applied a dot in the middle of the damage...

Now while Im doing all this, Im working with a jeweler's eye loop,so essentially the damage appears massive and your paint dots are precisely in the middle!
Now stay focused on the paint curing from here on in,in my case within 14 minutes of applying,I used a clean large smooth drinking glass over the paint and lightly rolled it back and forth, flattening the paint into the sides of the damage,then I let it fully cure for 20 more minutes.
The last and final paint drop was applied again in the centre of the damage and left for 18 minutes to partially harden/cure.
This time I used a hair blower to heat up the glass a bit, then rolled it starting with very light pressure and as it progressively and cured, I applied more pressure to it, the rolling went horizontally, along the same angle as the surrounding area... take the time to lightly "feel" the "fill" for flatness compared to the surrounding area.
1 hour later I brought out a partially damp micro fiber cloth, and some fine rubbing compound and proceeded to work in the new paint,with even light strokes across and up and down, and making sure to add a few drops of water to keep the "grind" hydrated. Even at this stage of repair I would check progress with the eye loop from time to time, you get to understand where you need to be with the help of the loop, remember this is micro repair so enlargement control is a must!
A few hrs after the compound rub, I used a quality polish on my orbital for a light buffing, did not take much for the "fill" to polish up to the same surrounding area, I finished the area with an application of Auto Glym high definition wax, and hand rubbed that on,waited 10 minutes then went over it with a fresh new micro fibre...
End result: with the loop at 1/4" above the leading edge I could NOT find the fill,even using a flashlight to side light it!
Literally, 100% invisible.
Sorry for the lengthly post, but wanted to share for those that might want to take care of any stone chips on their rides,if you take your time and follow instructions you'll have a perfect repair, guaranteed!
PS, I could post a pic, but there is literally nothing to see,that would indicate there was paint damage.

Unfortunate there are so many brain dead drivers out there, you gotta pay attention every minute you're behind the wheel. Also unfortunate that the front end of any vehicle is going to take abuse from rocks/bugs etc, not too much you can do about it, I pretty much just accept it, but I can can see why you would take the time to fix it. Great write up, and I'm glad it worked out. Do they have a front end bra for the '11, 'cause that's always an option.

Hi Apocalypse Pony,trust me, I drive with 6 sets of eyes, which seems like it's not enough... in August I was heading to the office in my truck around 8a m, I had just crossed a major intersection (Younge & St Clair) and noticed that traffic ahead was stopping for a red light, which I also did.
I habitually check all mirrors, and I see this BMW coming up behind me, crosses a now DISTINCT red and continues to plow into my rear end!!! which is what brought it to a stop!
This lady then gets out the car swearing and yelling at me for being "another idiot male driver" LOL, all the while still holding her phone in her left hand.
She insisted I was at fault for causing her crash, I said back to her that I could see her in my mirror gesturing with her hands as she talked on her phone ( it's illegal in Toronto) and told her to cut her losses and piss off!
but she insisted it was my fault ( she rear ended me LOL) and called the cops... the lady cop that arrived asked me what happened, which I told her,then asked the other driver who her service provider was (Rogers) she called some number and within minutes she had all the info in her hands, duration of call, from what number,length of call, ect... she ended up ticketing the driver with dangerous driving, illegal use of a cell phone, and running a red light ( other witnesses talked to the cops at the scene.
I figured she had at least 8 grand damage to her front end. Her beamer had to be towed... typical scene of how tons of drivers still think that using a cell phone while driving is just "Super Cool".
Oh my truck, not a scratch anywhere,hope she learned her lesson well!

Yah, that doesn't surprise me a bit. Lucky you walked away without injury on that one, pretty scary. You're not kidding about six pairs of eyes, there's a case where you had to pay attention to what was going on in front AND in back of you. Glad to hear the lady got what was coming to her as far as tickets go - shoulda been paying more attention. I don't even own a cell phone and it's going OK for me, so i'm not sure why these morons need to be glued to one while driving.

Welcome to our little family and congrats on the new ride. Sorry to hear about the mishap but like mentioned earlier there are way to many brain dead tools out and about these days. I feel fortunate that my car of 2 summers is still blemish free (luckily) but it is only a matter of time before something/someone ends my great streak. Enjoy your new car and I almost forgot, will it be a summer toy or a year round car?
