New from BC

Hey guys, I'm posting for the first time on this forum. I live in Vernon, BC, for those who don't know it is about an hour from Kelowna and 4 from Vancouver. I currently drive a 1999 Mustang GT, bought it in January and just parked it for the winter about a month ago. Any other Stang people on this forum from the Okanagan Valley?

Nice! I was actually at the Show n' Shine at Watkins this summer. I didn't enter my car but I did spectate. Any cruises planned for the spring? Something like the KCL cruise but mustangs and other fords only, I think that would be a lot of fun.

Unfortunately the greater majority of current club members are supporters only, meaning they pay their dues but do not participate in club meetings or proposed cruises.

Most of the members are inclined to polish and wax their vehicles then admire them from their lawn chairs in the garage. They simply do not take them out. Good forbid they should get a rock chip or a rain drop. Whereas mine get driven all the time rain or shine!

There are approximately 38 paid members in the association and the average attendance this year at each monthly meeting as been 4 members. It has gotten to the point that at our last meeting held on 21 November the motion was made to close down the association. It is simply not worth holding meetings if only 4 members are going to attend.

To give you an example a cruise was planned for August 13th and we where to meet at the cruise directors house in Kelowna. Only three vehicles showed up consisting of a Ford Mustang GT, a Mercury Cougar and of all things a Honda Pilot. A Cougar in the group I can understand but how does a Honda Pilot relate to the Mustang group?

Currently I have given the members of the Okanagan Mustang Association until the 23rd January, 2016 to figure out whether or not they want to continue or close the association. If the association closes the Kelowna Thunderbird Club is willing to accept any Mustang keeners and even go as far as helping to put on a Mustang Show and Shine.

If your interested in meeting up and cruising in 2016 let me know.
