new member, 1st time mustang owner. 2000 V6 convertible. Good condition, getting painted by spring. Suggestions for a nicer looking 6 without going overboard?

Welcome to the CMOC! There are tons of mods you can do to your Stang, it's all about personal preference, and having it the way you want it. Keep us posted, and please post some pics:tup

Welcome!!! You came to the right place for advice.....dust off your wallet.

^^^ LOL, no kidding. Welcome to CMOC. Tons of mods exist for the 6-er. What is it you're looking for? Show or Go? Or both? We've got a V6 build on the go too - its a lot of fun squeezing HP out of these motors. (https://www.cmoc.ca/general-mustang-tech-chat-46/vaems-sn95-264ci-4-3l-v6-mustang-build-13633/).

I see you`re from Barrie too. See ya around the A&W! :)

Hi Vaem. Looking for show, start with a car to enjoy a ride. Your photos great - what size wheels do you have? Jim

VAEM 01-30-2012 11:46 AM

Hi Jim. The rims on there now are 17`s. Looking to upgrade to 18`s this summer.

Ya know - if you`re getting the car re-painted in spring, this might just be the time to invest in new body pieces (if you`re planning on changing them in the future). Might I suggest a Saleen front and rear facia, Saleen side panels and a Saleen spoiler. ;) I`m slightly biased to Saleen.

Are you having the car painted in Barrie.

VAEM 01-30-2012 11:48 AM

Ohh, forgot to ask ... Any pictures of your new ride?

v6oreo 01-30-2012 12:17 PM

I talked to Gary at roadrumble on Jacobs Terrace but nothing set yet. Where did you get your bodykit? I've been looking on net & pricing not bad, not sure about shipping.
Thinking of selling your 17's? I'm in south end, off Big Bay Pt Rd Jim

VAEM 01-30-2012 04:14 PM

Hey Jim,

I picked up the Saleen kit from Stage 3 Motorsports in Phoenix, Arizona (www.Stage3Motorsports.com). You can find the kit for your 2000 here: http://www.stage3motorsports.com/pro...Kit-wWing.html

Stage 3 Motorsports sells genuine Saleen urethane parts - not cheap immitation parts. Shipping to Canada is quite reasonable and comes via truck. Stage 3 pays all the duties and fees so the price you're quoted is the price you pay. I've dealt with them A LOT and have always been pleased with the products and service. Give Bill a call - he'll take care of you.

I had one of the Mustangs painted at South Barrie Collision Centre (http://www.southbarriecollision.com/) - the one in the V6 build thread. I did it in matte black - they did a fantastic job. They really went above and beyond. You should give Greg over there a call - he's a fellow Mustang fanatic and really goes above and beyond to get you exactly what you're looking for - and their facility is second to none. Tell him Alex sent you.

As for the rims - yea, they will totally be for sale - but not yet, I've got to wait for the new rims and rubber to arrive. I'll let ya know once there good to go. The rims were just powdercoated this past summer and they only have 10 km on them. The rubber is almost new - 2 years old but less than 500 km on them. I won't be asking much - I've got no room for them in the garage.

Have any mods already been done on the 2000?

Alex

Welcome and enjoy the new ride

v6oreo 01-30-2012 04:27 PM

Thanks again Alex. My idea was a 67 Mustang but too much of a leap. This 2000 v6 came up in the late fall & just enough time to safety, about 100k & store it. Put magnaflow dual exhaust & K&N air filter. I've got a 93 old cutlass supreme convertible few years but roof & paint tired but it is not as much fun as a Mustang. If you hear of anyone looking for an Olds project...mechanically certificable, $ not much. Jim

Welcome to CMOC!! :)

SNAKEBITE 02-01-2012 04:53 PM

holy late Batman lol

v6oreo 02-01-2012 05:49 PM

hey snakebite .... you mean the 93 olds as a batmobile? Perfect car for retirees in Florida. I got it on a place/time thing - $2500 certified convertible. Just can't get inspired to do anything with it... growing up to a Mustang...

one day I am sure
