I have joined the Canadian Mustang Owners Club with the intent of (hopefully) locating my old '69 Mach 1. Recently, while looking through some old photos & paperwork from my deceased parents collection of 'stuff' I came across an Insurance Document which has the VIN of my old Mustang.
Being the 'newbie' here, I'll wait and see what you guys and gals think I should do next. By the way, I sold the car back in 1975 to a high school friend and from what information I have gathered it was last registered in 1996 in Saskatchewan.
It's nice to be on board and I look forward to your suggestions and direction.
Regards

Welcome to the site. Good to see someone from Kelowna on here. I thought I was the only one. Do you currently have a Mustang? How is the search going for the old one? Not sure if ICBC would be willing to do a VIN trace for you because of privacy legislation but you never know.

Nice to see someone else here from the valley taking an interest. Sorry to say but I don't have a Mustang at this time but have been looking for my old Mach 1 for only a few weeks. As previously mentioned the Insurance Document I found was by 'happen-stance' going through my folks box of old docs.
I do have a VIN for my car and it is as follows; 9R02R130002 which indicates the car was born in San Jose, CA as a fast back with a 428 CJ Ram Air. It was a 'triple red', 4 speed with a black hood/shaker non spoiler, non fold down rear seat. I bought it off of a Ford Tech Rep in Camrose that had done some engine work on it. The engine had a 427 dual point distributor and adjustable valve train. I bought a set of Cyclone headers that took me a couple of days to install as they were a bear to install. I also changed the shifter to a Competition Plus from the OEM Inland that wasn't one of Ford's 'better Ideas'.
I have spoken to the guy I sold it to and he only had the car for 2 summers before selling it. Apparently, the torque boxes were cracked which spooked him. That was likely because of the M&H slicks I had on the car back then when I used to give the 'Chevy boys' a run for their money.
Here's hoping that with this additional info I can get closer to finding my old Mach 1. By the way, ICBC won't divulge any info re; previous owners...I attend McCurdy regularly maybe we can meet up then. Look for a 55 Chev straight axle Gasser...that will be me.
