I can't recommend the best rust protection product, but something would be beneficial.

I have had my rust proofed 3 times so far and I've already had the hood and trunk repaired under warranty on my 2013 due to rust. It is a 12 month a year daily driver like yours will be.

I've currently got 17" steel wheels with Goodyear Ultra Grip (I think) and my V6 has been through 2 winters so far and did great.

Go Krown or Rust Check for sure, cheap insurance. As far as paint protection, get a good brand of wax and throw a couple of coats on before winter, and keep it clean, should be all you need. You already got some great advice on steel wheels and Blizzaks for winter. A lot of guys cringe at the cost, and being a recent grad you might too, but you just bought a brand new Mustang, throw another $1000 down for a set of snows and wheels, you won't regret it after the first snowfall, and they pretty much pay for themselves. Maybe take back your empties from college, or quit drinking beer for the summer. Then again, maybe that was just my college days. lol

Welcome and congrats on your new car.
I double what AP says but add in detail your car (especially the outside) after you get it and then use a good wax or a good sealer (Nu Polish twice a year, fall and spring is an excellent way to keep your paint protected).
Also think about really good floor mats like Weather tech or Husky to protect your floors from salt and wet.
You can also use plasti dip on the front of your car in the Winter and peel it off come spring to protect it from the crap that comes off the highway and abrades the nose of the car. If you want it to look invisible you can use glossifier on it. 3M also has sprays that do this.

You are not alone. I think I might just have enough empties to buy another mustang lol :) I have budgeted for snow tires and realize that they are crucial! It might go way beyond 1000 with prices I'm seeing from tire places around here but my salesman guaranteed to beat any price by a mile on winter tires so I'll get them at the dealership for cheaper :)

Hey Everyone,

Just picked up my new stang yesterday. It is even more fun to drive than the one I testdrove and I absolutely love the roar when you accelerate hard. I'll be very pleased if I can end this summer with a clean driving record, gonna be pretty hard though ;)

I have put up the pics, If I didn't mention earlier the one with black seats they were looking at for me was already sold and all they had was one with ceramic seats. Tbh starting out I wasn't really a big fan when the salesman sent me pictures, but it looks better in person. This is one beautiful car; got plenty of stares, compliments and thumbs up just on my way home from the dealership.

Very nice car. Just keep washing it well I guess. Will second the notion on Blizzaks..they work!
