But I believe he was comparing if you were to run identical motors in the 2 cars then the 500lb less would win ofcourse. But I have a 300LB stereo system so I am hoping that I will have more power that weight wont matter haha

Put the stereo in a beater car....You can call it your work/beater/stereo comp/winter car.
And then when hits the fan pull out the Mustang ;) lol

Welcome. The 05gt weighs approx 3500lbs 300hp/320tq and in Alberta NO E-TESTS so forget the test and move out west. thumb: Now then lets put the Fox myth away were it belongs ie weight. Lets say a 90 Fox notch tips the scales at 3000 lbs. this would mean 1hp pulls 13.3333333333 lbs. Now for the heavy 05+gt, it weighs approx 3500 lbs and for 1hp pulls 11.66666666 lbs. For you Fox guy I rest my case, no offense intended of course.

How did you some up with that theroy? Not saying anything bad I was just wondering.....?
I thought a Fox weighed 27-2800 Lbs, and ive herd the 05+ weigh's more then 3500...?

Also I find that a lot of people are running that pully drivin *supercharger* that looks like half of a turbo. Why do people run these when they cost 2x that of a real turbo setup?

You mean a centrifugal supercharger? Not sure where you're getting the 2x the cost of a turbo... it's about 1/2 or 1/4 the cost. I paid $1500 for mine used.

I am also running a Centrifugal Supercharger, and don't listen to Flynnt he stoll his he's a thief LOL J/K Flynnt. ;)

I paid a bit more then that LOL maybe ALOT more....Yes they are pricey, unless you like Flynnt and steel one hahaha.

I often think I should have went turbo since its FREE and doen't rob HP to create HP.
But you sound more like a man when you say my car gets Blow'N lol
I hope this doesn't stir up lol
I was joking. ;)

Whats the benefit of going with that sc vs a turbo? Other then extremely easy install....

White97 12-12-2007 10:01 PM

Easy install, cost, no messing with the headers, piping, etc. You can still make some big power with the supercharger, but it robs HP because it's belt driven.

The turbo kits I've seen range from 8-10k USD. I believe you can pick up a Vortech kit for around $3000.

A 4 cylinder 90 Lx weighs in at a little over 2800 so I can assume a 8 cylinder would weigh more, not for certain. I am guessing. The 3500 lbs was pulled of the internet like the 90 Lx. Mind you it's the internet.rockon: Just checked again 2827 lbs on the muscular 4 banger (1990) 1989 LX 5.0 = 3385 lbs
