Newbie from Ottawa
Hello everybody,
Just joined the forum and thought I would introduce myself. I ordered last week a new 2011 Kona blue 5.0 that will get here only sometime during the winter as apparently Ford has quite the backlog !
I have been going to various track over the last 4 yrs participating in High Performance Driver's school with local BMW Club. These events are well organized, safe and loads of fun. This summer I concluded that I arrived at the limit of my modified Cooper S and it was time to move on to something with a little more grunt.
One of my good track buddies is a die-hard Mustang owner (he has a 2008 Bullitt and a 2007 Shelby GT500) who was working on me to change over to the Mustang. What convinced me was the arrival of the 5.0 this year, the available Brembo brake option and all the available suspension upgrades from Ford Racing to transform the GT into a real track machine. The icing on the cake came when I watched the M3 vs. Mustang GT comparison that Motor Trend did recently. Wow, how could I go wrong ?
I went to test drive a 5.0 a few weeks ago and the rest is history. There is no way to go wrong with this combination of performance for the price. And this pony isn't just a straight line drag car either, the thing actually turns and handles !!!!
Anyway, glad to be hear and looking forward to chatting with the group.

Welcome to the site dude - 'grats on the new 5-oh. Lots of lucky drivers putting themselves into the new 5-0, and why not? All that horsepower right off the showroom floor beats spending a ton of cash to bring an older GT up to the same level, so I can see where a test drive would seal the deal. I'm scared to even sit in a new one, let alone drive it !!!
