Bought my car new in red deer. Driven only on summer days. Washed weekly at the car wash. 8 years now and not one spot of rust anywhere.

If I lived closer to big water. I would defenantly rust check it one time.

Plus because of the climate change with the hot, cold, and damp.
You can see it on some cars where the rust is coming from the back side of panels, or doors because they are not 100% protected from water, or moisture right from the factory.

Just my 2 cents LOL

It's cheap insurance in my opinion, even if you don't keep it. Better value for your car if it is sprayed, and truly rust free.
Hmmmm now you got me thinking...........

My gt is 20yrs old not one spec of rust anywhere. Underneath is clean. I have sprayed some oil twice in 20yrs. IMO I wouldn't Krown a summer car or any car
for that matter. When they Krown they drill holes and that makes exposed metal
Not to mention places for dirt and moisture to get in. No one is drilling holes in my car.

The holes they drill are sealed with oversized rubber stoppers, no dirt or moisture getting in that can't get in through window seals or by body joints, and besides, the whole purpose of Krown/Rust Check is to protect bare metal. Sounds like you need to do a little more research into how it works, I'd do the Pepsi challenge between the benefits of Krown versus not spraying or oil any day. Doesn't matter if its a summer cruiser or daily driver, but to each his own I suppose.

Yes but many I have seen the rubbers are missing . Like you said to each there own. Personally I don't want holes drilled in my car. I drive verts and I want the strongest structure possible and I don't think drilling holes are going to help that at all.

Personally, if any were missing, I'd go back for replacements, but thats just me. I see your point though, the benefit of spraying does not outweigh the cost of drilling the holes. Far be it for me to tell you how to spend your money, or what to do to your ride, heck, differences are what makes us individuals!! Apologies, I wasn't saying you were wrong in your choice, just offering a different opinion, sometimes people take me the wrong way when I do that. I'm sure the other regulars that have seen me in action will vouch for me as being relatively harmless. Except for fitzy, he just took it completely wrong. sorry, inside joke.

The only holes drilled are in the door jambs, that it! Depending who does it it could be two per side or three. I have had it done, no regrets, and no plugs missing either! If my GT did, I would go back instantly. And to add to the holes issue. When they do it, it is very professional, and looks factory. Meaning that I don't even notice them.

Some of you still don't get the concept that in the inner panels, frame rails, and seams is either just primer, or even bare metal in areas. So when one is washing their car, that water still gets behind the seals, and gets in those areas between panels, and just sits there. Even moisture on those dewy days in the summer mornings. Ever notice on some cars that it is rusting from the inside out. Yap!
How about the under side. Think its got paint or clear coat. Nope. Pay close attention next time your under your car. I spent enought time under mine, and know it like the back of my hand, and I knew i was spraying it.
I'm not preaching, but for the few holes drilled, I will do the oil spray, and enjoy a rust free car for many, many, many, many years to come with no body repairs, or under chassis holes.

Some of what I was saying is from what others have told me eg. dirt & moisture. I have used and plan to use the crown in the spray can with the straw like adapter to spray in all the nooks and crannys ect and then a light oil spray underneath when I store for the winter. It's just me but I don't want any holes drilled in my car. I appreciate hearing what all you folks are saying though as I learned a few things that I was unaware of. Looks like I'm reaping the benefits of this forum already .
Thank you and cheers

Well said, although I have only had the bottom of mine sprayed with Krown. The owner of Krown told me he didn't like spraying the inside back panels on the convertibles. Only because the oil gets on the top when put down. I don't know anything about that, I was only taking his word for it. As for a coupe, I would have the holes drilled.
