Friday Niters- UPDATE - Mississauga and Westies

Looking to start this up again for the season. Looking for the first week of May.
Brampton, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oakville, and anyone else whos interested.

We're open to suggestions for a cool place to meet this season.
Requirements:
Lots of parking.
Minimal number of umm errr imports (you KNOW I wanna say ricers.. but I won't)
Refreshments close at hand, washrooms would be a bonus.

OK, appreciate the inputs, so far the locations mentioned are:
1. Dave and Buster east side of 400
2. Weston and 7 SW corner
3. Colossus west side of 400
4. Original spot - Square 1
5. Doodbridge 7 & Martingrove

Really looking for something a bit more west guys. Oakville? Burlington?
Name some spots so's we can check them out.

You can count me in Bob!
Doesn't matter to me where we end up meeting!
I am also open to suggestions

I just had a thot about that.. rotating meets...hook up locally and cruise to the scheduled meet.:chacha:

On second thots... it was hard enough to get any regular interest in one spot last year...but its still a thot.

That would be excellent! Look forward to hooking up.

:chacha:With any luck I won't have mine after next Friday.. for a couple or three days anyways....

cobracory 03-28-2005 11:31 PM

Sounds great to start up again...
I'm all for rotating areas.
Or at least maybe we should see how many people are interested coming from the east and we can meet at Yorkdale or something and cruise out west to meet everyone else.

ok fine but you guys have to wait up untill 1am till I get there and not leave untill I feel like leaving

cobracory 03-29-2005 12:53 AM

I guess we'll need to start keeping our eyes open for large parking lots with a Tim Hortons to find a new place...

Then again, we can always go somewhere else without a Tim's.
Just need someone to go to Tim's and buy a Big-Tim (pot o'coffee) and bring that with all the cups and such.

I think this explains how I ended up putting on so much mileage last season - driving out west each week and also out to Oshawa from time to time. :)

BIZ 03-29-2005 07:34 AM

If you guys get it organized some of the LAMC guys like to make road trips...we could show up...

PO10PONY 03-29-2005 07:52 AM

Eric
You guys are always more than welcome
AND
As well as a few of us up here could head to London as well!!
We'll have to talk more about this Eric!!

OhYes05 03-29-2005 07:54 AM

follow the leeda leeda leeda...follow the leeda...lol

Stang Seller 03-29-2005 10:07 AM

I'd be up for it too, would be nice to come out and hang out with some of the gearheads for a change. It beats hanging out with the Honduh boyz, all they talk about is "yooo guy if I swap in a GSR motor with TYPE R Camzz I'll smooooke you" :laughhard. I'd love to come out once my car is back up and running.

Thanks Tony...

The Wed night in Burlington is sweet...problem is most guys work the next day and dont want to drive the distance...but a Fri nite would work...
we hit the track at Sparta on Fridays...

cobracory 03-30-2005 05:09 PM

The Wednesday night in Burlington that you are talking about is at Mapleview Mall, correct? I went there a couple times last year and it was cool. Unfortunately, since I worked until 5:30, I didn't get there until close to 7 and had to park at the other end of the parking lot.

I think one of last year's highlight was when... umm... I can't remember his name... drove into the parking lot. Stopped cuz there were a few Honda's in the way. He put it in neutral and roared to about 5000rpm - the looks on their faces was priceless. Plus it took them a matter of 3 seconds to move. :)

AIRRIDE 03-30-2005 06:23 PM

we will come to as long as someone finds a place......we should have our car back in a couple of weeks.

03GreyMach1 03-30-2005 07:31 PM

There are lots of BIG parking lots around 400 & 7

1. Dave and Buster eas side of 400
2. Weston and 7 SW corner
3. Colossus west side of 400

No timmies at those locations but there is a Esso close by and they have timmies.

Actually, yes there is a Tim's near there.
A little further south on Weston closer to the 407... I think.
I know there is one there - drive thru and all.

And there's even the big parking lot at Costco there too.

Yes, but you have to park in the back until you get some bling.

RIGHT! , I forgot about that one. Yes lots of parking.

... and there are a lot or ricers in this area so we could show them what HP is ALL about!

ogc 04-01-2005 12:01 PM

Have you guys forgotten that they close off that costco parking lot? You cant go there anymore, and the damned po lice are all over that place.

I didn't forget - I never knew. :)

There goes that idea.

I guess there's still the parking lot at Dave & Busters if as well - where the rally was last year.

Hotyellowstang 04-01-2005 06:29 PM

Hi guys. Let me chime in. A great location for a Firday night is Hooters, in Columbus (Ohio, that is). All the fast cars go there, and they have an impromtu burn out contest all night. With the Cops watching! When I was there, some of the burnouts were amazing! There was one 64 Chebby......

Well, anyway, the Timmies on highway 7 in west Woodbridge, that someone mentioned above, is great. BIG parking lot, Timmies close by, washrooms inside, and a good location for those of us tired old guys living in Vaughan, or North York, who don't to drive an hour each way after a busy week.
Just my $0.02

Steve

all those are dead spots

1.Dave and busters security will ask you to leave right away
2.weston and 7 sw corner is closed off for the weekends
3.colossus is a dead parking lot adn theres nobody ever there other than people leaving the movies to go into there cars

thats why people now go to that timmies between kipling and martin grove.

And that place is turning into the same as the others.
Last year on many occasions I remember seeing the cops blocking the entrance/exit. I won't mention the 'copter that was around a few times. Plus it is too small of a lot. Many spaces yes, but just too small with everyone driving around and stopping.

The Tim's at Square1 was good cuz we were in the back of the lot - and it is right off the highway too. Just no where to go other than the cars.. no picnic benches or anything or even curbs to sit on.

yeah that time you seen them block off the exit and entrence was probobly the night when the ricers went street racing up the road and one of them crashed into a tree or the time one of the guys in a civic crashed on hwy 7 and died. Besides they only closed off the entrence and exit so no one can come in and asked all the people in the parking lot to leave right away.

If the best y'all can come up with are:
1. Original spot - Square 1
2. Doodbridge 7 & Martingrove

Then this ain't happening.. you guys in T.O. can have fun at Doodbridge if you want.

The original intent of this thread was to try to establish a regular meet somewhere WEST of Mississauga for the reasons mentioned in the original post.
Doesn't have to be every Friday.. mebbe alternate Fridays, but we need to start somewhere.
With the interest shown from the LAMC guys.... I like:
Burlington (but the only spot mentioned was the big Wed nite meet)
Stratford (we could all cruise around looking for St. Anger and take pics)
Brantford (might get some of the Niagara guys?)
Anybody familiar with these places please post some locations

And the next person that mentions a spot east of the 427 gets..:brickhead

anarchist 04-04-2005 12:07 AM

Well the original spot was nice, but there was barely anyone ever there. I'm not really willing to go that far though :)

yeah I agree, I would come out but thats way too far, I live in Toronto and just square 1 takes my 25 minutes or more to get too.

It would be a good idea to make the meet around Toronto that way East guys can make it out and so can west guys since its in the middle.

Oh well lets see how many people show up to the meet west of mississauga

No? But you'll drive out to Courtice twice on a weekend woncha?
heh.. half a brick
Look at a map dood.. Mississauga is by no means halfway from London/KW to Toronto.
To be truthful Raf.. I don't care if anyone from TO gets there or not, there's already a ton of places there. And if you wanna start a meet in the TO area go ahead.... but getcher ass out of this thread! You've done nothing but hijack it from the start. You'd think a mod would know better!

Let me ask you Bob, why do you always get so offensive and defensive on your west end meet threads?

I only wrote that last post because you responded like a jackass to anarchist "well then... dont"
thats not a very nice way to reply to a person when they suggest or comment about something.

And if us posting our comments and suggestions about where to meet is "hijacking your thread" then I can close this one for you so no one can post on here. Just read it and "either come or not" cuz thats all it looks like you want.
