Fort Macleod Track IS Happening!
I thought this deserved it's own thread, so I copied what I put in the goals for this year thread here.
Just a fyi for southern alberta peoples, I talk quite frequently with the secretary/treasurer and they have the land bought. That's right all 86 000ish has been raised and the paperwork has been submitted for the available government grants. A couple local companies have said they'd sponsor lanes once it's up and running, of course the more donations the quicker the ball can get rolling. So to all the nay-sayer's it IS happening and not 10 years from now. The plan is for a 1/4 mile track that meets nhra regulations, along with stands, a tower with bathrooms, meeting rooms, concession, etc. They also have the plans to eventually make the 1/4 a straightaway section of a roadcourse. Along with that is plans for an RV park and possibly a storage facility. For more info or to donate and help pave the way the website is tailwindraceway.net
