Exclamation Lack of street racing!?

First off street racing is illegal and dangerous and should never be attempted

K i have a problem... I recently bought my 2001 Bullitt (4 months ago) and in that time i have raced 1 person, a chopper :/ it seems to me that if you want to street race you might as well go on youtube? random street races or light to light races used to happen all the time but seem to never occur anymore. I pass by camaros, mustangs, 350z, 370z, corvettes, srt-4s and multiple other worked up ricers. Nobody seems to even have the slightest thought of racing and its incredibly frustrating. Now dont get me wrong im not into killing myself in a street race (8 month old daughter) but ther are many times i will pull up beside these cars in completly safe and cop free areas and nobody bites??? does anyone else notice this? its extremely frustrating!!!

Did ya beat the chopper!
I would totaly race ya if you pulled up to me. I've put 20K on mine already and nobody has ever came close to even pulling up to me or anything like that. I'm pretty sure I'd bite as long as the coast is clear and the wifey isnt with me, although who knows wifey might be into it too.

Maybe that is a good thing why we don't see them like we use too......Just a thought LOL!
Times are different.
Way more traffic on the roads.
Laws are getting tougher on this act.

Nailed it. Can't speak for the rest of the world, but I'm not losing my licence and car for a quick blast of speed, I got a mortgage to pay and family to support and I'm not into paying double on my insurance, or taking a bus to work. Sorry dude, I'll just smile and wave. Have fun and be safe. Guys with the ricer Civic's don't look over because they don't want to get thier *** whooped!

I have to agree, when I feel the need-for-speed I go to the local drag strip on Joe Citizen days.

Of all people I should know better, as I have an 18 year old son that I lecture all the time, but honestly I will admit that this sort of light to light racing, and even a bit of 0-160kmh(approx) racing happens all the time here in Lloyd, and i can't resist when someone pulls up beside me and wants to give it a go.

This just happened last Weds. during the car clubs first cruise night of the year, "Just Kruizin", and a red 1994 Acura NSX tried his luck with me twice. Once from light to light, then wanted to go onto the 4 lane east of town to try 0-160ish. I never checked an NSX out, but thought they were some sort of low end super car, but my stock Stang handled him no problem.

Maybe this town is just "old school" I don't know.

I prefer to blast along on my own than race anyone. I'll take a speeding ticket over getting busted racing. I've had few people roll up and wanna go many times but I pick my spots. Last summer I couldn't shake a guy driving a V6 Challenger who wanted to race so I dished out some cruel reality, those things are a boat anchor to begin with let-alone buying the V6. Being in a smaller town there's always a good selection of high school kids running around in rice rockets that they think are fast to smoke.
