lower my time?

V6 or GT, no matter! Drop weight, it works on any car. Lose the spare, the jack, the trunk mat, and everything lose in the passenger comaprtment. Try removing the front sway links, it's easy, it's FREE, and it aids in weight transfer. If you carry a compressor, throw an an extra 5 pounds in the front tires, if you have one wheel peel, drop the pressure in the right rear by 2 pounds more than the left. I'll bet you a box of beer, if you do all of these - your beat your best time.

i heard though that if you drop one hundred pounds of weight you only make up one onehundreth of a second...thats not very much for all that work.
im not trying to make a drag car here.

...your off by a decimal place.

100lbs = 0.1 seconds (rule of thumb)

Ditto what G-focejunkie said 1 tenth. The items I listed do not make a drag car, these are SIMPLE things you can do at track side. If you really don't care for advice, don't ask the question.

and i was saying that i was askinf for advice, i just thought that removing sway bar links (never done it sounds hard) seemed a little big to go rip[ing up and down the track,

Ok, point taken.

Was a little confusing to my simple ways :tongue: Poor traction 3.27's, 3.73's=less traction.

The sway bar links come in out in about 5 minutes with hand tools, with the car on a jack. 14mm deep socket and 10mm wrench, and a couple cable ties to tie the sway bar up. Try it in your garage first, then you'll know what to do when you get to the track. And if you could 2 hoots about cornering - take the whole darn thing out - drops about 25 punds off the front. HOWEVER; do not expect to take any highway ramps at 140!

ya i kinda figured that i would spin more if i kept the one tire fire setup, but i was going to install a posi unit as well thought that would help with traction.
but that wont matter, if the COBRA passes the tests.

I have to agree. My car simply wouldn't hook up, ever, on street radials with my 2.73's. it would just spin and spin. (Well, it would either spin, or bog; no in-between launches).

Now, with a 3.73:1 ratio, the wheels will chirp and grab nicely. I find wheelspin is easier to modulate with a lower gear (numerically higher) gear ratio.
