What track have you run your best times at in Southwestern Ontario?

In Southwestern Ontario we have 3 tracks.

Which one have you ran your best times at?
Please don't go putting down other tracks as I am glad we have three to choose from. I am just curious what you all think.

I myself have ran my best ET at Cayuga (TMP) and highest MPH at Sparta. I am guessing that I hook harder/better at Cayuga and spin more through the 60ft at Sparta hence the higher MPH at the end.

On the slips it shows. 1.79 at Cayuga and 1.90 at Sparta. Same car/driver/mods.

I have never been to Grandbend but will make it thier this year to see how it is.

What have you all found?

Mach1Chris 03-29-2005 10:32 PM

i've only been to cayuga, and only once. that was a disaster.

what were your 1/4 times?

BIZ 03-29-2005 10:34 PM

Best e/t at Sparta and best MPH Sparta

The times I've been to G/B it was pretty humid....

Sparta-12.59 @ 115 MPH but a best MPH of 117 in the Fall

G/B-12.91 @ 112 MPH in the summer on Wed nites.

G/B is a VERY sticky track compared to Sparta...

This year the first Friday Nite of every month is T&T @ G/B...no more Wed nites. We should check it out...

I've never been to Grand Bend yet but by far I've had excellent results at TMP. I honestly think Sparta is downhill or short or something because I've put down odd runs compared to what I know it runs at TMP. Must have been some wicked air that day because the hook wasn't as good but it MPH'd well. All my bests have been at TMP though, best 60' of 1.35, best MPH of 139.76 and best ET of 9.68. Not to mention motor runs were better by a hair at TMP, but not by much.

Honestly though I think I need more runs at Sparta to really make a fair comparison though.

i don't even know where spart is. I have only been to Cayuga. and i can't wait to go back!

MUSTANG GUY 03-30-2005 02:46 AM

Ive ran my car at Cayuga and St thomas, I ran the best time at St thomas but the track was better prepped at Cayuga

largeman 03-30-2005 05:35 AM

buzz on the street is best times at st.thomas best hook at the bend and best consistancy at tmp...track prep at tmp is second to none...personally i had a nightmare at the cfscs at the bend alot of oil at the 1/8th st thomas i had no problem hooking but definatly about 2 1/10ths quicker....

lxexpress 03-30-2005 02:12 PM

track times

cayuga was ok...sparta did way better :tup

gfong 03-30-2005 02:22 PM

Getting a lot of mixed reviews. Not what I exspected so far.

BIZ 03-30-2005 05:38 PM

Sparta's not as bad a ppl make it out to be...All the tracks are around the same sea level so there really no advantage there...just track prep...I have a hard time hooking at Sparta some nights...but NEVER at G/B.

I can not hook worth a shat at Sparta. Do they do any track prep at Sparta?

BIZ 03-30-2005 07:12 PM

Early in the season is best....or late fall....

for track prep? or are you just talking times in general. If times in general yes I agree as the weather is cooler.

White97 03-30-2005 08:59 PM

I have no problems hooking anywhere! :banghead:

Although I am scared of the end of the Sparta track and the return road.. when I went it had some nice potholes in it.

second run... spun through 1st, 2nd and part of 3rd, ran a 14.1 or something

third run... did better.. but forgot the traction control on... timeslip said 13.9, clock said 13.4.. so i dunno

had to leave after that, and its the only time i've been. gotta practice cuz this is sad

If you ran 13.4 that is good stock. I know I am the one slowing my car down. I just need practise.

What are you expecting from your car and is it stock?

Some small Hondas got lost in some of those holes...

Its better now...and the track prep is better at the beginning of the season and end then it is during they are so busy they dont put alot into it.

Best times at TMP with the Mach. With the coupe I can't remember it's been so long, (prob. sparta when Fletcher owned it)

well talk to slow5.0 (ryan), he ran a 13.2, all stock on his '03 mach (torch red too! heh). he saw my first run and i'm sure i even embarassed him

i'm really not sure if I ran a 13.4 or 13.9, the clock and timeslip had 2 different times. I didn't even know about the 13.4 till my buddies told me then showed me the video. My 60' times were totally brutal. I was doing 2.7+, so just bringing that down I'm sure I can hit those times.

I'd really like to hit a 13.4/13.3 stock (i am total stock now), but that would mean my driving would have to DRASTICALLY improve although it is possible. Dasilva's is having a 2 day drag racing school in may, so I think I might go to that if I can get the time off work.

Usually....

Grand Bend usually has awsome traction......Both Cayuga and Grand Bend definatly have a better racing surface. St Thomas is still nice but a little bumpy. Its prob more about the humidity and time of day...or yr. I would pick Grand Bend but its 2 Hrs away. Cayuga is closer...so thats were I would prefer. I have most fond memories from St Thomas, but the timming system sometimes has trouble. We ARE blessed with 3 really good tracks in southern Ont, all within few hrs of each other. IMO..........Mark  ...I'm goin to Cayuga ( TMP) on Sat.April 24.
