Yea like I said, anyone I've talked to just needed to swap out the lca's for some good aftermarket ones. Most everyone get's an adjustable uca at the same time cause it's easy to swap both while you're down there. I've talked to atleast 10 different people where those two things fixed the problem.
The only real change comes if you have the car lowered more than an inch. If you have it lowered anywhere from 1.5"+ then those two might not be enough because you have altered the cars suspension geometry. Getting a set of weld in lca relocation bracket + using the uca to get the pinion angle where it should be, should fix it. If you look at a s197 that is lowered significantly you can see that the lca's are horizontal or damn close to it. You don't want that, you want them to be angled like they are stock. The lca relocation brackets allow you to adjust them and fix that problem. |
Good LCA will fix your wheel hop. Get a UCA (adjustable) to correct any pinion angle.

I'm lowered approx. 3/4"-1", and have the hotpart LCAs. I still have wheelhop. I picked up a steeda UCA, and I'll see if that cures the issue when I install it.

And what kind of ends do you have on them?
|
Polyurethane bushings...It's a street car, first and foremost, so I'm not willing to listen to the added noise of rod ends.
|
Well it looks like you may need some better tires then.

new bushings may help a bit

Probably got off of it

Does anyone know of anyone who has bought the SVT LCA's from ford racing?
They are original equipment of the 07 SVT mustangs and i think possibly the shelbys as well. Or is it worth my while to just buy an adjustable UCA and keep in the stock LCA's. I really just don't want to buy parts that wont help anything. It only hops in a straight line when for example you are at a slow roll and hammer the gas, around corners they'll spin the way they should. There was only one good thing about the snow, no hop what so ever! |
