Does anyone else experience a small amount of vibration felt from the rear end when downshifting or decelerating sometimes? I am experiencing this and would like to know if any others have the same problem or if it's normal before I go into the dealership.

 

Does the vibration seem like a 'seat od the pants' type vibration? Just trying to zero in on the problem.

 

To determine if it is in the driveline somewhere, the next time you notice it, engage the clutch fully to see if it goes away or persists. If it goes away I would guess something in the driveline like driveshaft, u-joint, tranny bearing...but if it persists it could be anything from a bad rear tire, our seperated tread, or could even be something in the rear end assembly, but you should be able to narrow it down a bit by doing this, and then take her in as it should be covered whatever it is.

 

I haven't heard of any issues with them. I'd just take it in and get it checked out.

 

i actually have this issue and just took it to the local dealer and they said that its from the way i drive (total nonsense). the service adviser said that its best to let it get worse. I shouldn't have this issue with a 13 car with less than 10k on it. they said that they checked everything and its all tight and they called ford and ford said that it has to get worse too.

 

Dudes, you both live in Nova Scotia, maybe it's not the car, maybe it's your roads that are the problem.

Well after 6 years and 174,000 kms I finally found out what the vibration is. The flywheel is going. This winter was the first time I was able to store the car and when I started driving it again in the spring, the vibration is happening all the time at 2000 rpm. I found some information on some other forums that indicated this might be the problem because, apparently, Ford used a dual mass flywheel which of course means nothing to me other than they are supposed.to have a reputation for not being very reliable. Anyway I don't really care as I got 174 k out of it and five of those 6 years were year round driving, so I have nothing to complain about. My question for you ladies and gentlemen is, can anyone recommend a half decent replacement flywheel brand as I'm kind of freaked out at what Ford might charge for a replacement. I don't drive it like a maniac, well not frequently, so I don't need anything necessarily built for NASCAR. Anyway any assistance you could render would be great. It's a 2012 V6. Thanks.

 

My buddy has a 14 V6 and he replaced the dual mass FW with a solid ype. He may still have the very low milage FW if you want to keep it stock.

Thanks for the advice. I contacted him and he got back to me right away. I didn't even know there was a Maritme Club. Anyway, unfortunately I've decide on upgrading the whole setup with the aftermarket. Thanks again.
So back to my original question. Does anyone know of a good aftermarket clutch / Flywheel manufacturer?
