I always use synthetic oils in my engine/trans/rear end. (usually either Royal Purple or Amsoil)

The RP powersteering fluid is the only fluid that doesn't overheat and blow out the check valve on the filler lid when I'm at the track. That makes it good in my books - no more fires on my headers in #9 at Mosport

I've also got RP gear lube, tranny fluid and have used it in my engine (although now I'm a mobile1 guy).

The silver turd had RP in it when I bought it, and I switched to Mobil1 and I noticed a slight increase in noise afterwards.

I run a race shop in London and We run royal Purple XRP oil whenever we can. Another oil company sent in a sales person with a friction machine.... the royal purple oil worked so well the machine would not operate properly.... unlike the product that he was selling.
We see higher oil pressure and cooler engine temps when running it both on the engine dyno and at the track. Sure its expensive but very much worth it.

I use Quaker State full synthetic 5w30. Got no complaints. My car's an automatic. I had the trans flushed and filled using a semi-synthetic. Also got no complaints.

I would run RP all the time if it was more readily available, I run Mobil 1 because it's on the shelf at CT. Otherwise I'd be running Royal Purple.
