FS: 1968 302 shortblock + Edelbrock heads and other parts
Guys, I have a 1968 302 shortblock up for sale. This is one I purchased from GTAMC member "VBR Pete" down in London last year, intending to use it in my 68 Cougar, which I sold this fall. So I have no use for it now, and might as well move it along to someone who does.
I am told that it is a fairly fresh rebuild, and the appearance makes me believe it to be so. It has a mild Crane hydraulic flat-tappet cam of unknown specs, and flat-top pistons which are either cast or hypereutectic, not forged. Sorry for the vague info, but it was passed along by Pete from the person he bought it from. Asking $300 for this.
Also for sale is a brand new pair of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads for SB Ford. I had bought these to top off the shortblock last year. New in the boxes, these are PN 60229, with 60cc chambers and 1.90 / 1.60 valves, made for stud-mount rockers. $1000 for the pair, including the insert bushings to run standard 7/16" head bolts.
As well I have a Comp Cams Thumpr series hydraulic roller retrofit cam, also brand new in the box. This is the basic one, PN 35-600-8. To go with it I have the retrofit kit with the lifter retainers. $275 for that, I may have some Ford OEM roller lifters around to complete it.
Last thing is a set of Crane Energizer Series die-cast roller rockers for stud mount, 1.6 ratio, PN 11746-16. These are new, but have been bolted to an engine, but never run. $150 for the set.
Parts are located in Caledon, Ontario, just NW of Toronto. Prefer to sell in the Toronto area, delivery can be arranged as long as you have the means to remove the engine from the back of a pickup at your end (fairly light, a couple of guys can do it). I'd consider shipping the smaller stuff. Negotiable if someone is looking to take everything as a package.
