West Price Question

been hunting about for rims and tyres (I am in Winnipeg, MB) ...got a quote from 1 local Ford dealer here (Roush place) and got quoted $542/wheel for 18" chromes (no rubber). Is that a good competitive price? I love the rims but not for THAT price (got sticker shock) though I knew it woudn't be cheap. And $800+ for an axleback exhaust...oh my. I know I want the Bassani from Ninosport for less than that I think.
I also called another local Ford dealer about 18" anthracite bullit rims. $1100 (no taxes yet) and $2100 with BFG KDW-S rubber. Again are those good deals?

thanks
Adam

I picked up 4 Roush 18x10 chrome rims and 4 Michelin Pilot 275/40/18's for approx 3600.00 in 2006 at a dealership. The rims were approx 400 each and the tires 500 each so as you can see it's a little pricey:laughhard

I have 17" anthracite Shelby Razor's with Falken rubber (245-40-17) all around for about $1800, and that was at a smoking deal because it was fall, and they were for another guy that bailed on the deal... none the less falken is cheaper than some others. going with nitto's (275mm) in the rear prob in the next two weeks.. 400$ later... :
the rims you looking at, are they roush? or just ford rims? we needs pics!! if they're Roush i'd snag 'em

These are the Roush rims - no rubber.

These are the Bullitts - which they will put 235-50-18 BFGs on (I would prefer 255-45-18

**NOTE** These are just links to images, not the actual vendors

Also, I have a windveil blue GT - which do you guys think would look better? I was thinking of a black rim too but it never did look quite right in Photoshop

thx

Either way you go, there's the old saying of "You get what you pay for".

Anything from the Ford Racing catalog isn't going to be cheap, but from all I've seen, the look and the quality is there. Same for Roush, but again, there's a slight premium for the name. There are other places to get the same looking rims for less money,(ie:knockoffs), but they're usually manufactured overseas and the quality is reflected in the price. Cheap isn't good and good isn't cheap....lol

Roush vs Bullitts is a tough call - both are great looking five spokes, but depends on whether you want the chrome or the painted finish, and the Bullitts have the deep dish look to them. Either way...should look pretty sweet.

Anything you buy that looks hot will likely be big $$$.

Here is a great deal though.

18" Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Wheels & Goodyear Tires on eBay.ca (item 190303939915 end time 26-Jul-09 16:11:25 EDT)

This guy sells real Saleens for cheap too.

Nice price. I would estimate to buy new at the dealership might total 3300-3500.00

I was told at the mustang shop in calgary that the Bullit style rims are all made at the same factory. The only cost difference between Ford and lets say American Muscle ones are the center caps. The center caps for the Ford ones are 70 dollars each and there is the price difference. I have silver stock 17s and now black AM ones and side by side they are identical except for the center caps. Tires for these cars are expensive no matter what you go with.
