5.4 three valve swap

I have recently picked up a 2008 and a 2009 5.4 from f350s as projects I would like to put one in my 88 5.0 ho. Any one have any suggestions or any uses for a 5.4 and want to trade for a different motor my last car was a big block 572 Chevelle with slicks I got into a mustang cause they have always been one of my favourite cars and wanted some thing more street dayly drivable
But it just feels slow (I know u can't compare a stock 5.0 to a race ready big block on slicks ) but I just need more power on a budget have 2 new kids

Welcome aboard.
Why not upgrade your 5.0 with heads, cam, intake, exhaust, supercharger, ects....
The 5.4 is no drop in overnight deal, and will cost you way more to make it happen. Would be diffrerent if your mustang was already equipped with a modular engine like the '96 to '10, or even better, a '06 to '10 since that would be a straight drop in with minor details to be needed for that time period.

I agree with 1low. If you spend the same amount on go fast goodies for your 5.0 as you will on the swap you will probably see better results with the 5.0, especially if you look into used performance parts which are available with some digging.

More power

Is the 5.0 capable of good hp numbers with keeping some reliability and dayly drivability with up grades. How much can I look for with out having to upgrade the bottom end.

Would any mustang owners have a use for the 5.4 s cause if I am not goin to use one I will sell one and start to build the 5.0

I'm guessing around 400hp but someone with a little more 5.0 experience should chime in.

Depends on what route you go! N/A will net good hp with good to radical drivability, gowing with something like a super charger with a milde top end head, cam, intkae combo will get you really good numbers, and have good drivability as well.

You just need to figure out what you want first.

Welcome to CMOC. I agree with the guys. Stick 5.0 - 5.4 is definetly do-able, but it's going to cost you.
