Finally pulled trigger on M90!

Just pulled the trigger on a Chrome Roush M90 :chacha:
After hearing about the deal on the M90's I checked out a Roush dealer from the States on ebay they had the 07-08 M90 listed for $3395 I called them up and got the same deal for a 05 kit (slightly different parts kit)! I'm pretty happy :wiggle:
I think will be a sweet setup on the GT as I was looking for a "safe" power adder and something I could install myself. Can't wait for delivery...I will update with a build thread I'm sure I will be asking for tips along the way.

Cheers

Very sweet! That's a nice little early Xmas gift for yourself!:tup

klaw 12-03-2010 10:46 PM

Congrats on your purchase. Installing these kits is great fun. I did my kit over a long weekend and firing it up and taking it for a rip for the first time was very rewarding. Be prepared for a perma-grin for a few days once it's done.

SNAKEBITE 12-04-2010 12:30 AM

Congrats. Does that come with an intercooler. Otherwise it's a very safe system so enjoy as K mentioned

Vapor Shelby 12-04-2010 05:43 AM

Yes it does! :tup

SNAKEBITE 12-06-2010 05:12 PM

What are the hp number you are looking for/track time?

Vapor Shelby 12-06-2010 05:34 PM

Not really sure to be honest, *some say around 350 & 360 rwhp.. I'm just looking for a lot of smiles

SNAKEBITE 12-07-2010 02:06 PM

I am sure you will be satisfied

VAEM 12-07-2010 05:52 PM

That blower is BADASS. Can't wait to see the build!

Vapor Shelby 12-11-2010 03:40 PM

Today I did some prep work on the Car.. Removing the Plugs has always been worrisome for me, and getting them out would be a major milestone! I have read about the problems some have had with removing them, the two piece design often seizes in the head due to carbon build up, using modest force cracks them in half resulting in some people getting so mad they set fire to all they hold dear. So I went out, bought some deep creep and 1/4 turned each one waited for 30 mins for the liquid gold to seep down and out they came...I'm pretty Happy :chacha:

Plugs are 2005 originals with 21k on them.

SNAKEBITE 12-11-2010 06:39 PM

Like they say once you start you are almost done. Good luck.

1low03gt 12-11-2010 09:14 PM

Awesome. It's amazing how things work out if you just take your time, and have a little patients.:tup

Vapor Shelby 12-13-2010 09:45 PM

Small update, Spouse went shopping this evening and thought it might be a good time to spend some time with the disassemble,

Removal of fuel rails, Intake manifold.

http://i54.tinypic.com/v789jb.jpg

Removal of coolant lines, water crossover, alternator, and noting the various plugs and sensors.

http://i52.tinypic.com/10yktqv.jpg

Next step 36 of 74 is modding of the alternator and the coolant crossover pipes. Its all going good so far,I'm taking my time, after all it's a long winter :bleh:
I think modding the wiring harness will be the next milestone... I have read it's a real pain in the butt.
Cheers

SNAKEBITE 12-14-2010 12:57 PM

1low03gt 12-14-2010 08:50 PM

....naked and very clean!!!:tup

5.0GTCS 12-16-2010 10:24 PM

looking good man, subscribed, the video(s) sound just incredible, drool material!

Vapor Shelby 12-17-2010 05:09 AM

I decided to tackle the wiring harness during some down time from work, the Maf, ETC and ATC connections are moved in the Harness to a new break out point, re taped and placed back in the harness, wheels removed to gain access to inner wheel well fenders. 6 push pins and 4 10mm and 3 5mm bolts are all that hold the the front bumper cover on. 4 push pins retain the impact absorber to the front bumper beam. I noticed I'm at step 47 of 73, That's it for the major prep work and disassembly, now on to the install!
Next update in the New Year
Happy Holidays :drunk:

roddy 12-25-2010 07:00 AM

Wow... learn something new every day. I thought Cobras were M112s, and the GT500 was an M122...

Roddy, you are correct it is an m122 that is used on the GT500.
Thanks for correcting that error. I knew better....too much happy juice when I typed that I think.lol

In case anyone wonders the differences, the number after the m is the amount of air the blower displaces in cubic inches.

Happy New Year!

Tomorrow I will Fedex the PCM to Roush and wait for it's return with the new Spark Plugs :bleh: Anyone want to guess on the return date? I'm thinking Feb 3rd, The return box states overnight delivery in the U.S

So far I have to say it's a very good straight forward build, instructions are very well planned with every part clearly labeled right down to the bolts! Most valuable tool has to be the hose clamp pliers..Worth there weight in gold 2thumbs:

SNAKEBITE 01-03-2011 09:23 PM

Looks like its almost done

Vapor Shelby 01-03-2011 09:49 PM

Yup, This build was suppose to be a spaced out get me through winter project..lol It's nearing it's end now I fear winter will get the best of me :suicide: On a side note I noticed with the added weight I have to get a lower profile jack it seems the new lowering springs have settled nicely :tup I will post up a pic when I install the bumper :tup

Vapor Shelby 01-05-2011 07:10 AM

Small update,

Spouse is happy car is sitting on it's on shoes with a front bumper:rolleyes: I showed her a few clips on Youtube of a mustang with the Roshcharger going through the gears! With a furrowed brow, she said it sounded like cats whining, I mentioned in that video the windows were down and you wouldn't hear that sound inside
Here is the car as it sits before and after, I think it has a lower stance now..

End Of Build Day!
Received the PCM and spark plugs from Roush this morning so today was the First start up day, kinda bittersweet because I was excited to fire her up but kinda sad this project is finished and now the long wait to spring so I can finally take her for a good run.:boohoo:
I installed the PCM, Spark Plugs and CAI and did the final check on hoses and wire routing.

Crossed my fingers and turned the key, The Mustang sprang to life and mellowed out to a nice burble...Sounds good with a very responsive throttle! Brought it up to operating temp and checked the coolant, no leaks, strange smells and No Codes, seems all good!
Cheers guys  Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures and details of this build :tup

CRASH 01-07-2011 11:00 AM
