M90 Question

If I got a roush m90 could I use 87 octane in it, I ask cause I get 87 octane free, and have been considering getting one. Could I use the 87 and add octane booster?
Since with the m90 I send my CPU into roush for callibration vs handheld tuner like other chargers would the new CPU adjust timing automattically like my car does? Or is it an only 91 or better type deal?
Thanks for the helps!

With a custom tune you might get away with it on low boost, running extra rich, and low timing. The extra rich is for a bit of cooling from the unspent fuel. I wouldn't recommend it on the Roush tune though.

Octane booster is a waste of time and also extremely hard on plugs and valves.

tehehe. If it's not a daily driver don't sweat the 91. I guess I do not worry as I put in 3-4 tanks a summer

I'd go with the 91 myself.

I would agree with Vame.
There's a very good chance of detonation running 87, The Roushcharger manual clearly states,
" Premium fuel (91 octane or higher) is required to prevent “spark-knock” or detonation under certain operating conditions.
The use of fuel additives (ie. octane boosters) is not recommended. There is a possibility that these chemicals can damage your engine and cause drivability issues with your vehicle."
Not worth the experiment in my opinion.

OK, so heres the deal......

When I picked up my stang there was another 2010 there that was getting an m90 put on it.

Fast forward to last week and I'm at work and my cell phone rings, its the local ford stealerships head mechanic. So he says " that guy that we put the m90 onto last year wants to upgrade to the 700hp wipple", so for the low low price of 2700 I can have his old charger. Pretty sweat deal eh?

Its gonna be a tough one to turn down, even if that means no more free gas for me!
