Roush Power Boost
Hey Gang
..as a 5XR owner I was excited to hear from a confidential source that a sector of Ford has developed a "kit" to add even more punch to the Roush (5.0 GT platform).
...word has it the "kit" is a done deal and will be out sometime in late December or early January.
The arrangement is you send your PCM in and they flash your PCM snd send it back to you with a new open element airbox configuration, smaller pulley and belt. $1000 or so later and a 45 minute install and you have about 80 more RWHP and 50 or so TQ
One needs to be aware sometimes this stuff is just rhumor..but this guy I have been talking to seems quite legite.
I will keep in touch with my source and advise the forum here for those who might be interested when and where it is available.

Roush
Yep when I talked to my guy and he detailed how the upgrade hit a power range starting at 1300 rpm and it gets you 80 at the wheels, you have to HOPE it is for real. He did say the price was going to be approx. $1000..but hey that would be a bargin even for a bit more..no tuning hours just a 45 min. do it yourself pulley and re install your PCM, all pre tuned by Roush ....gotta love that!
You add a set of Dyna Tech LT Headers.... hmmmmmm
This thread might be quiet for a while but soon as I know i will advise...he said there sould be some news around the 28th Dec.

Power Upgrade
Well it is 2012 and as i might have guessed things change...
Just got off the phone from Roush and i guess they have taken a big step backwards. Now the story is they are going to do the testing on this "power boost" on their F150 first then the 5.0 mustang.
Additionally, as we might have assumed they will void the warranty on any vehicle that acquires this upgrade.
So that is a major FUBAR..they will void your warranty if you do anything and i mean anything, even something as simple as an air intake.never mind a pulley or LT headers etc.
That said, I ordered an open element CAI from JLT..(carbon fiber)..an SCT X3 ...a custom tune will be done ( mid Feb) on BBYE once the boost-a-pump and Dyna tech LT Headers are installed. Additionally, it has been suggested a 79mm pulley but I will take one step at a time and see where we are at on the Dyno and how everything interconnects before we add the pulley and if need be injectors.
So, sorry to get you guys all excited but that is the latest info as I have it..
