Single turbo DIY build up *56k warning*

I've been working on my DIY turbo build for a few months and I forgot to post it up over here.

I'm using a Holset turbo from a Cummins diesel Dodge truck with a Tial 38 mm wastegate. The intercooler is a 24x12x3 with 3" inlet and outlets and I'll be using a 1st gen. DSM BOV. The ignition will be an MSD 6a with a Megasquirt standalone running it all.

DSM BOV (I chromed and candy coated the top to make it look better!)

I built my own header so that I can retain all the smog equipment as well as the front sway bar. The other side will be a flipped shorty. It's only tacked together to get the fitment right in these pics. When I get the fitment correct I'll TIG it all together.

The fuel and ignition control will be taken care of with a Megasquirt v2.2 running MSnS extra code.

Here's the driver's side header and turbo all mounted.

You should stop by this weekend. My buddy is coming over from NY with my Summit order so I can hopefully get it running this weekend.

I'm not the handiest person either! I've spent about 2 years researching and reading on turbomustangs.com and finally decided to just go for it. Having some welding experience and owning a TIG welder helped though.

The best part is I haven't spent more than $1200 on the whole setup!

are you planning on running a nutty amount of boost into your engine? i
f i remember correctly my dad's cummins turbo packs about 38-42 PSI when spooled up... perhaps since your engine will have alot more revs then the diesel the PSI is alot lower... and isn't the turbo fairly large? just wondering..

I'm not planning on running too much boost (yet!)...only around 9 PSI. The Holset turbos love to run 30+ PSI though. I've got the smaller exhaust side (16cm2) and I'm going to use an H1E compressor side with a 60mm wheel. Another member on turbomustangs is using the exact same setup on his 4.6 2v running non-intercooled and he's putting down about 425HP.
