Be careful if you get a tuner. We received a bulletin from Ford stating that some engines had melted down with aftermarket tunes and were not covered under warranty.

^ if the solenoid can just be unplugged they may do it but if I was you I really wouldnt worry about it. My suggestion would be to drive it for a while first and see if it is an issue or not. I drove a new GT for a week and it never once did it to me. When I drove a new v6 I wanted to try it so I shifted at a very low rpm but other than that it never happened again.

When I took it out on the first test drive, it did it, because I was driving like a grandma for the first block or two, and then it never did it again during the test drive, or the drive home, so yeah maybe I'll just leave it alone. I actually thought it was me when it did it....I was like WTF, did I forget how to drive a stick.

In my opinion they should hang a little card on the shifter that explains this as well as the process to engage reverse. They put one in the 4x4 trucks explaining how that system works.
