Suppose I take the s/c off my car, how many horses do I have. Now then what kind of hp numbers would I be looking at if I up graded the cams etc etc. Lastly what would the cost of doing such a thing run a feller

Cams can net you 30+ depending on specs.Cost, too much LOL!Cams alone are around 1000 for the 4V modular engines, the you need the upgraded valve springs, which are roughly another 200 bucks or so.
Why lose the s/c?

Seems to me like working backward. Could always go turbo or cam it with the blower. I saw a an article in mm&ff where a guy ran a compound boost setup where the turbo pushes into the supercharger. That might be fun. If I was interested in a n/a 5.4 I would go after a 2000 Cobra R. It's on my list of cars I want to own some day.
