Broken T-5

Looking for a broken T-5 to do a practice take-apart before working on my "good one".
So if I broke something no big deal.
In London area and looking to pay $25

Last month or the month before MMFF did a full tranny rebuild article. It seemed detailed but not too bad in terms of DIY. If I were you I'd pick it up and give it a read - I don't know if I'd waste my time building 2 tranny's - especially one being broken. Just read up, go slow and take LOTS of pictures. You'll be fine.

also which T5 are you working on? 5L? 94-98v6? 99-04v6? because i know FRPP has a T5 rebuild kit that is epic amazing, but only ment for the non world-class T5 tranny's and the T5 used in the 94-95 GT 5L. if i recall correctly

Looking for a late 80's ~ early 90's 5.0L.
The broken one will be a test of my ablilty to take the tranny apart and put it back together again. If I screw up and brake something it's no big deal.
My good tranny is in my shed awaiting it's turn.
I have given up on most of the magazines, mostly a rehashing of the same old stuff every few months - I think I have about 5 articles on T-5 tranny - none very complete - just a sales promo for one of the american tranny rebuilders.
That's just my opinion on magazines.

yea i agree mags only give you a general overview of the overhaul procedure. imo maybe try tremec or ford for a proper manual (if you need it). and to be honest, unless you toss the thing around or take a pry-bar to it. you should be fine to take your good one apart for a rebuild. any parts that you may brake on a T5 when you pull it apart are some of the general parts that you replace with a rebuild kit. (seals, gear rings, ect)
have you tried a local wrecker? heaven forbid some poor kid smashed his 5.0 and it's hidden in there. and because the tranny is sooo common, it should be fairly cheap, even for one that isn't in bad condition at all.

Another comment on magazines - magazines can be shipped from their printers to Detroit at a cover price of $5.99 but when they go on sale in Windsor +$1 or $2. Why?? If US sellers can make a profit why the extra cost of crossing the border??

i agree with you there, the economy here seems to be facked up. and now in BC they're introducing a new HST i've noticed people have been headed south of the border for stuff and just pay the tarrriff, and crap is STILL cheaper. for example: i work at toyota. a fully loaded TRD tacoma will run you 42k before taxes in BC; in WA you can get the same thing for almost 7K cheaper! your warrenty will be void IN canada,(can still get it done in the US if willing to travel to spokane ect..)but even after paying the tarriff on it.. you save stupid. my dad's RV in BC was 120k, in AB, 110k... he picked it up in Idaho for 89k... it's just stupid. specially since the dollar is on parr.
IMO, i think we'll see a lot of the market change, prices will come down eventually. they have too. or nobody will buy it here... plus raising sales taxes would be fine... if they lowered income taxes...

haha that's my speal.
