They tie the front and rear sub frames together. It keeps the body from flexing under hard launchs. Without them the car would twist up like a pretzle. Now you know :tup

Badass_Forever 05-11-2006 01:23 PM

so for a dd there useless?

Not at all. If you read in a lot of the forums, Sub frame connectors are recommended to be the first mod done to our fox bodied Mustangs. Hard launches requires a cage and bracing (strut tower etc.)

yA MY uncle was sayin that our cars twist pretty easy! :) so mabye i just might have to buy these!

FlIpMoDe 05-11-2006 02:27 PM

Convertibles are even worse than hard tops, Ford "tried" to put a Mickey Mouse bolt on thin sub frame connectors. I can hear my dashboard creek from the twisting and that is just daily driving.

FlIpMoDe 05-11-2006 06:48 PM

whereabouts do these get welded underneath the car? would i have to remove my carpet so the heat wouldnt cause a fire?

do you make these yourself?
thanks

It joins the front and back frames together to strengthen the mid section on either side of the car.

You are welding to the front and rear frames so there shouldn't be too much heat transfer to the floor boards so your carpet should be fine.

BOTTLFED 05-13-2006 12:01 PM

Flip....You're hired. LOL.
I do make these myself. i have a fabrication shop in Woodstock and have been making these for years. Let me know, via PM, if you'd like a set. :tup

Happy to hear, Colin.
For two reasons...That you've received them. And, that the fit is nice.
I've had to send a second set out to Joe Parent. He hadn't received the first set, I sent out alomost 3 weeks ago. Canada Post screwed up for a second time. [Note to self...Send everything FedEx]. The last time they screwed up was when I sent a set of diamod clear corners out to a member on GTAMC, and they've never showed up, either. :banghead:
Live 'n learn.

joeparent 05-17-2006 05:52 PM

recieved them today..they look real nice...
Thanks for the great service :tup
still didn't see the first pair :banghead:
thanks again!!

One set remaining. Haven't received payment from another member. So, back up for grabs.
As stated...$60 picked up in Woodstock or $85 shipped. Email me at bottlfed@hotmail.com. :teeth:

Also have a 10" Random Orbital polished for sale. Make me an offer. It just sits there on the shelf and has been used about 4 times. :5:

do you install what you make ?? only reason i ask, is i couldn't weld if my life depended on it, another problem is the car is undercoated every year, so there's a nice layer of "grime" on the underbody of the car. Plus my car is in woodstock every day. So if i could get where the welds needed to be cleaned off, that'd make things go alot smoother.

Your shop doesn't happen to be on springbank north of dundas does it? just seems to be a lot of nice cars in there from time to time, looks more like a body shop though.

if possible we can work out a rate for install if you might be willing, just an idea, and it saves me the headache :) let me know

BOTTLFED 05-30-2006 05:57 AM

You have a PM.

I think you are talking about Sean Hylands new body shop. He just started that up this year.

dohp 05-30-2006 11:25 PM
