Acid Rain Damage

Acid Rain Damage
I've just got a 67 Mustang (light blue) but it has some acid rain damage on the hood and trunk. It shows as little dark circles - looks like water marks. I've tried some Mothers cleaner on it but it doesn't touch it. Any ideas as to how to get those marks off? Thanks.

now if it's too late like mine is... repaint...

Is the 67 original paint? If so I suspect a compound may take care of it or a 2000 grit wet sand (careful here) followed by compound, polish and finally a sealer before you apply a nice wax. Watch out for paint thickness though you do not want to break through the paint. Also you may find the panels you compound and polish will look much nicer than the ones you did not do so it may well lead to a full job on the car which will take time but the result will be worth it, smooth as glass and a mirror finish.

prob the same as mine... mine sat at a smelter every day all day.. and just the little bit of acid rain eats away at the clear. best way is if you catch it in time, there's a product called "fallout" it works great, then claybar and re-wax
