comments, shaker on a v6?

First mustang, just starting. 2000 V6 convertible. Getting ideas for paint & maybe Saleen body kit this winter/spring. More show & fun than HP. Any experience/input on shaker? I like the looks, but not sure if overdoing a 6?

If you like it I say go for it. It's your car. Just don't start slapping Cobra or Mach 1 badges on it and you shouldn't get too much neagtive feedback.

The shaker would look great. Even better if it is part of a functional cold air intake.

I don't see what the problem would be. The shaker looks sweet on the S197's, be it a V6, or V8!

The shaker would look okay , but definitly no badges I have a v6 and a mach 1 and I would not consider a shaker on the v6 because the mach1 is the complete package , shaker hood , great sound from the 32v dohc and a great presence when you hear it and see it . my 2 cents .

I'd say do what you can afford. I have improved the horsepower in my V6 by 59 rwhp with a few simple mods. Not sure if I would want to go with a Shaker though. I would be more inclined (for my own Mustang) to replace the stock hood with a fiberglass one with a slotted vent near the Cold Air Induction to draw more air into the engine. Gee now where did I put my money to pay for it.....?

I don't think you can over-do a sixer, and more than you can over-do a GT. I've seen a lot of nice sixers, with some tasteful upgrades, and mods, and as long as you don't rice it, a sixer can look just as good as any GT. On the flip side of that, I have seen some GT's that have been way over-done, and I think theres a fine line between just enough, and a lil too much. Anyway, do it the way you want, and most importantly have fun doing it.
