Yes I would be very hesitant also. Take what I said and throw it out the window. Maybe use something like Simple Green and a bucket of water with rags instead of drowning the engine like I mentioned. Good luck.

Engine cleaning

Sure...I've had it done at Ford before and I think they spray the engine down with water but no problems with the electrical afterwards so they probably used a rubber blanket or something..or maybe they were just lucky...LOL

Now my K&N FIPK is another story...they put small holes through it. Probably the hi-pressure washer or the shampoo liquid!

When I purchase a new car I find if you stay on top of the engine bay from day 1 I only have to wipe it down with a dry towel.

I so got to clean my engine bay this summer. Any suggestions on what solvents to use?

50/50 Mix of Simple Green/Water in a sprayer. Spray the cool engine and engine bay and let sit for 10 min. Rinse with hose and dry immediately either by running engine with hood down, compressed air, or leaf blower.
