Need help cleaning aluminum wheels

1 Attachment(s)
I used some Meguiars Hot Wheels Aluminum wheel cleaner on the polished aluminum wheels and now they don't seem to have the shine they had when the car was new. The bottle said it was safe for polished aluminum, now they look as though they have light scratches on the surface. I enclosed a pic of the wheel,it's the one that comes with the 2012 pony package.

No experience in this department. I would try a few coats of polish followed by a good wax

I always used wax on my rims.Seems to work fine for me.

^^^I am concerned about the scratches so hence the polish first

I just used the same wheel cleaner today and had the same result. I guess I'll polish and wax them too.

It does not hurt to polish a few times before you apply the wax:tup

The problem is that I really don't like the wheels very much, so I have to sit there and poilish but won't be happy with them when I'm done. Maybe I should get on it hard and bump one off a curb, then I can buy new ones. I'll just try not to do it in front of a cop though. :D It's been long enough now so I can throw you a jab right.

I kept my stockers as I really do not mind the look and had them real shiny with 150+ coats of stuff on them lol

As I said I'm not a fan of the stockers but I think the black wheels on your car look amazing.

I was thinking about that option also. It would save some scrubbing.

SNAKEBITE 07-11-2011 05:04 PM

I found the powerball a complete waste of time as it would not get into the tiny corners but to each their own of course
