Pictures Of My 2002 V6

this is my 2002 V6 5 speed manual, iv had it for about 2.5 years. all iv done so far is true dual exaust (flowmaster original 40's, 2.25 inch tubing, 3 inch stainless tips), BBK CAI, GT hood scoop, 5% tint and a bumper inlay. next i plan on doing my suspension, i plan on using eibach springs i know its a good idea to do your struts and shocks at the same time but is it neccesary to do it right away. i know it would save money in the long run since ill be having the work done at a shop, but i cant afford all the parts and it will be awhile till i can. i just cant stand the wheel gap and really wanna throw some springs in. here it is.

Welcome to CMOC.

Welcome to the site dude - nice looking car. No offense, but someone messed up your face a bit!! :lol

What have you got as the theme on your left sleeve - is it a full or half sleeve? Tough to make out. Looks like a lot of ink though - painful I'm sure.

The exhaust tips look much nicer in the wedding pic! Had you thought about putting a GT bumper on when you went dual?

yes its a full sleeve japanese style, forearm is a dragon thats on fire the tail wraps around my wrist, the rest wraps around my arm,and from my elbow up is a phoenix that goes onto my peck. as the story goes the phoenix rises from the ashes of the dragon. its about 26hr's worth of ink. im still planning out my right sleeve.

as for the gt bumper comment, i was thinking about it but didnt have the funds at the time. i got the guy that installed the exaust to angle the tips a bit, so u cant see the welds. im happy with it and it sounds pretty damn mean for a V6. here's a exaust clip.

thanks!!, any input about my lowering question in my OP? can i just swap the springs for now without messing anything up? ill do the struts and shocks eventually. how long will my stock shocks and struts last?

Bob03mach1 07-01-2010 06:39 AM

It does sound pretty darn good...hope you went back and picked up your camera :lol

Should be able to just do the springs now although you may need to have the alignment checked.

1low03gt 07-01-2010 11:11 PM

Agreed. If springs is all you can do in your budget right now, your alright, but make sure you do get an alignment done,or you will spend extra money leater for new tires up front.

Looking good and go for the springs at a minimum

I am in the process of doing my car, an 02 v6. I went with roush v6 springs which are designed to work with factory shocks and struts, as well as factory CC plates. If you havent bought the springs, I do suggest considering the Roush Springs. they may not lower the car as much but they will get rid of the 4x4. Im finishing my car tomorrow and I will take some pics. The roush springs lower the fron 1.25" and almost and inch out back.

Another trick I've learned through some research is to use Fox Body shocks and struts when you lower the car more than an inch. You can use stock ones and still get good life out of them. They work better than the new edge ones because they are physically an inch shorter. Ive put in monroe Sensatrac struts (shocks go in tomorrow) made for a 5.0l fox body and the front feels like a brand new car combined with the roush springs. By doing this you can also keep the cost down for shocks and struts, as well as pick up replacements at any crappy tire if need be down the road.

Just my 2 cents, here is a link to the springs
Roush Performance SM993K700V6

PS car looks great, I plan on doing the same with my dual exhaust which is next on the list.

Here is my car after the roush springs and the fox shocks and struts, you can see the front is a bit lower than the back

nice lookin 6'er madcow, but im probably just going to go with eibachs and tokiko blues, but im gonna have to hold off now. i took my car in because my service engine soon light came on, ended up being a faulty R&R sensor which cost me $360. i told them to give my car a once over while it was in and they came back with a $2300 estimate. my clutch(already new it was fkd, and already planned on fixing it), all 4 brakes and rotors,my front crank seal is leaking a bit, need two new front tires(already new that),wheel alignment and my rear shocks are shot. im getting the clutch,brakes/rotors and the crank seal leak fixed on thursday. wish i took mechanics instead of woodwork in high school lol and paid more attention to friends working on their cars cuz this SUCKS!! this was supposed to be the money i used for my suspension.
