I'd say the louvers are more old school, better looking on the 70's - I'm with ChadStang and say tint FTW on the new ones.

I ordered the Willpak aluminum louvers from American Muscle as well as a pair of quarter window louvers.
They are supposed to arrive on August 8th - can't wait cause I know they are gonna look bada$$.

So my louvers and quarter window louvers showed up right on schedule !
All the parts arrived in flawless condition (great packing job American Muscle). Props to American Muscle for excellent tracking info via email.

I got a local paint supply shop to mix me up a few cans of Lava Red (Ford code UZ) along with some clear coat and help me out with the correct primer for quarter window louvers (made of urethane) along with some scuff pads, etc.

I've posted a few pics on my Flickr account here. I'll post more as I progress.

Aluminum is definitely the way to go. I tinted my rear window, 5%, and slapped a Roush louver on.....nice, dark, private.....
