I too pull the rims off two times a year to clean the brake dust off the calipers, and the back of the rims. Never had before though, but the spokes on the FR500 rims cover very little area, and you see everything threw them LOL!

I use a cloth brush that looks like a large lime green cucumber with a black handle from Armoral. Found it at Walmart. Leaves no scratches. About $7.00. I use the turtle wax cleaner with it.
