OK my wife has a 06 pony with the shaker 500 stereo, I just got a 07 Gt with a shaker 500 stereo and mine is WAY louder and thumps hard, hers is wimpy in comparison. I have asked at ford and at the mustang shop in calgary and no one can tell me why or if there was a change to the stereo in the model years. Do any of you know what the issue could be?

 

Seriously no ideas??

 

I've kinda experienced the same thing. My parents had rented an 07 GT with the 500 shaker for my graduation, I would say the 500 shaker in our 08 GT/CS thumps harder in comparison. Not sure why there would be a difference between years but that kind of stuff happens for some reason.

 

I wonder if the amps were changed, or the wiring was upgraded. Could even be the power supply in the head unit it self.

When I get the $, I am pulling mine. I went into Best Buy and asked if anyone has complained about the stero system..I thought it would be better..they told me that have a "Mustang Special".

One problem tho..if you have serius, they cannot port it over to a new deck..or at least that what they say..
