My car's current state
Well, I did some work on the car yesterday, even though I have been off work all week already, haha been lazy on my vacation, but then again I have next week off work too.
Got the front bumper cover and bumper off today, disconnected my control arms fromt he k-member and just have a few bolts to complete remove the k-member so I can send it to my buddy who bought it, I am getting a new improved version and custom long tubes built eventually by my uncle. Next the rear end will be removed as well, only the shell will remain, hahaha
gonna get my hydraboost brake setup installed next.

I am going with hydraboost to be different plus it gives a little more room int he engien bay and makes it look cleaner. I removed everything cause the k-member is coming out and a newer one going in, plus I pulled the engine to install my new tranny and fix my rear main seal leak so it works out doing it all at once. The rear end needs a rebuild so that will be done as well, Going to clean the entire underside of the car as well and paint it black.

Jamie, I think you should slap 2 Eagle Talon turbo's on the car. Check this out. twin tuebo V6, all on a stock motor, 2 DSM motors, 14 PSI.

yeah he orginally only made 310 RWHP but now with larger turbo's he is up to 385RWHP I believe, the guy that owned that car adn tuned that car is coming up to Canada to due a dyno tuning session for us, most likely at Steeda, sometime in the spring. I am so in love with the ROOTS blower I am gonna stick with it, otherwise I woudl go turbo for sure.
Here is the hydraboost install I did today
Finally got around to installing my hydraboost setup, the stock vacuum booster was a tight fit to remove, not much room at all. Finally got it out. The hydraboost unit has a alingment pin by the looks of it, I had to drill a hole in my firewall for it, no biggy. There were only 3 studs on the hydraboost unit so I had to use a bolt for the last one, no biggy. Then I ran into a problem, the plunger that attaches to the brake pedal is different, the V6 vacuum booster plunger is curved at the end and the hydraboost unit is not, so it won't attach to my brake pedal, DOH! I think I need to get a 99+ GT brake pedal. The 96-98 hybraboost is slightly different then the 99+ one, and my unit is a 99+ unit.
Anyways there is a lot more room now, much cleaner looking. You have to use the master cylinder for the hydraboost unit cause the mounting holes on the hydraboost are angled for the master cylinder (about 45 degrees from the ground) and the vacuum booster has them parallel to the ground. Anyways here are the pics.
stock setup, notice the mounting bolts for the MC
comparison shot, notice the different plungers, the hydraboost one is not straight in the pic, it won't bend enough to reach the pedal still. you can also see the alignment pin on the hydraboost unit here, in the pic its next tot he top left stud
closer view of the angled plunger
installed hydraboost unit, again notice the bolts for the MC, angled.

Its an improved setup over the stock 89 system I think, its not any better then the 94+ style I don't think, many upgrade to the 94+ brake booster cause its bigger, but the cobras and GT's went to the hydraboost merely for room, but then again a lot of vehicles are going tot he hydraboost setup these days, our trucks are work have them, and a lot of GM vehicles have them, maybe its just cause its less room to take up in the ever crammed engine bays these days. I did it just for room, but I would think its better then the 89 brake booster, that thing is tiny especially if you have disc rear brakes.
